About the Hobo

It's, undoubtedly, a serious lifestyle change - and a change not everyone is cut out for. There's no short answer to that question but the cliff notes are something like this:

By the time I was 26, I was divorced with four children under the age of six. I spent 20-plus years as a single mother, dedicated to raising my family. At a time when most people are figuring out who they are and establishing themselves in this world, I was a mom with four kids in tow. Once they were grown and gone from the nest, it was time for me to live. It's a bit backward from the norm (whatever normal is) but then again, I've always marched to the beat of a different drum. 

In 2011, I was laid off from the best job I've ever had.  As if that wasn't enough hardship, adjusting to an empty nest after 20 years was much more challenging than anticipated. Single parenthood is tough work - and when you multiply that by four... Well, 'nuff said. I remember thinking at times how I couldn't wait for the kids to grow up. But when that time finally came, I was completely lost and broken. It took a long time to let go and focus on the life that was waiting for me to embrace it.

During that time, I developed this blog site. Now I use my writing and media skills to blog about my journey and earn a living. In addition, I do freelance work for clients worldwide in web design, content creation, and social media management. As long as I have an Internet connection I can make money from anywhere.

This hobo lifestyle isn't necessarily for everyone. There are some very tough hurdles that surface from not having a permanent roof over your head or a conventional job. But for me, that's a trade-off I'm more than willing to face to embrace life and experience all that I possibly can.

With this travel site, I aim to give you experiences of uplifting and inspiring information for your entertainment.
